Hermeneutic studies have now become one of the illuminating methods for the discovery of hidden dimensions in the meaning of literary texts. Such studies seek to get the meaning through the recognition of the intention of the author regarding the temporal, local and historical context in which the text is formed. The present paper studies a specimen of secretive and symbolic texts in Persian literature i.e. the story of Joseph’s Guest in Mowlavi’s Masnavi. Within this framework, the study seeks to discover the author’s intention in choosing the elements in the story. Like other poems in Msnavi Ma’navi, this story contains hidden layers and symbolic usage of different concepts as well as overt and covert hints to Mowlavi’s ideas about the world and man. The paper tries to extract some of these concepts. To this end, it considers the elements of the story while comparing Mowlana’s ideas with those of Plato and presents a symbolic interpretation of the story based on the philosophical hermeneutics. The study indicates that the use of some words and concepts such as afagh (horizons) in Mowlavi’s poetry can be indicative of this Platonic attitude in Mowlavi and a hint to the journey of wayfarer. Also, the keyword ayenh (mirror) which reflects only a shadow of truth could have been used with the same intention. بررسی آثار ادبی از دیدگاه‌های گوناگون می‌تواند جنبه‌های مختلف زیبایی‌های ساختاری، فنّی و معنایی هر اثر را به گونه‌ای نظام‌مند و مبتنی بر انگاره‌های علمی برای خواننده مشخص کند. امروزه مطالعات هرمنوتیک یکی از شیوه‌های راهگشا برای کشف ابعاد پنهان معنای متن‌های ادبی محسوب می‌شود. اینگونه پژوهش‌ها در پی درک معنا از طریق شناخت نیّت مؤلف و با توجّه به بستر زمانی، مکانی و تاریخی شکل-گیری متن است. هدف از پژوهش حاضر بررسی نمونه‌ای ازمتون نمادین ادب فارسی یعنی داستان آمدن مهمان پیش یوسف (ع) در مثنوی مولوی است. در این چارچوب، نیت شاعر از انتخاب عناصر داستان مورد ارزیابی واقع شده است. سخن مولانا به عنوان یکی از عمیق‌ترین متون تأویل‌پذیر در ادب فارسی می-تواند موضوع مناسبی برای بررسی‌های هرمنوتیک از این دست باشد. داستان مذکور نیز همچون سایر اشعار مثنوی معنوی حاوی لایه‌های نهفته و کاربرد نمادین مفاهیم مختلف و نیز اشاره‌های پیدا و پنهان به اندیشه‌های مولانا درباره جهان و انسان است و پژوهش حاضر می‌کوشد بخشی از این مفاهیم را از متن استخراج کند. در این راه با اشاره به عناصر داستان و مقایسه اندیشه‌های مولوی و افلاطون تفسیری نمادگرا مبتنی بر هرمنوتیک فلسفی از این داستان ارائه گردیده است. نتایج حاصل از انجام پژوهش دربردارنده این مهم است که کاربرد برخی واژه‌ها و مفاهیم در شعر مولوی همچون آفاق حاکی از نگرش افلاطونی مولوی و اشاره‌ای به سیر آفاقی سالک است. بعلاوه کلیدواژه آینه که تنها سایه ای از حقیقت را به دست می‌دهد، می‌تواند با همین نیّت از سوی مؤلّف به کار رفته باشد. https://pab.journals.pnu.ac.ir/article_2457_98ca333e75220cd162cb53ea4fff8c75.pdf
